WHAT ARE COMPRESSION STOCKINGS?

Sigvaris medical stockings are specially constructed. The design allows the greatest pressure at the ankle region and the compression decreases gradually in the direction of the knee and thigh.

Stockings can be made from latex-free materials including Nylon, Cotton, and Natural Rubber and are available in many colours and styles.

With correct fitting and compression the performance of the body’s natural muscle pump is increased, the lumen of the veins is narrowed so that the flow-rate of the venous blood is accelerated.

This allows the venous valves to work effectively and the danger of thrombosis and other complications are reduced.
